TechFlow, June 28 — According to CoinDesk, cryptocurrency exchange Bitvavo has obtained a Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) license from the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM), enabling it to operate across all 30 countries in the European Economic Area.
Bitvavo joins Kraken, Coinbase, and Bybit as another exchange to receive this authorization. Previously, Bitvavo had already completed registrations in France, Austria, Italy, and Spain.
MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation) is the European Union's unified regulatory framework for the cryptocurrency industry, designed to establish clear legal status and regulatory requirements for crypto assets while protecting investor rights.
