TechFlow, June 27 — According to Decrypt, a Moscow court recently sentenced Valeria Fedyakina, self-proclaimed cryptocurrency expert known as the "Bitcoin Mom," to seven years in prison for defrauding investors of $23 million (approximately 220 million rubles) worth of Bitcoin through a pyramid scheme within just 60 days in 2023. The 30-year-old mother lured victims with promises of bypassing Western sanctions via cryptocurrency trading in Dubai, handling up to $15 million daily. In addition to her prison term in a penal colony, the court ordered her to compensate victims for their losses.
