TechFlow, June 26 — According to Jinshi Data, U.S. economist and policy advisor Douglas Rediker commented on reports that Trump is considering an early appointment of the next Federal Reserve chair, stating that the earlier Trump announces his preferred candidate, the more likely that person becomes a target of criticism, and consequently, the less likely they are to actually succeed Powell. Since taking office, Trump has repeatedly criticized Powell for cutting interest rates too slowly, dubbing him "Mr. Too Late."
Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump is considering appointing the next Fed chair early to diminish Powell's influence.
