TechFlow news, June 24 — Visa's Chief Product and Strategy Officer Jack Forestell announced that the U.S. Senate recently passed the Generational Innovation in Stablecoin Usage and Security (GENIUS) Act, which Visa supports. Forestell believes stablecoin legislation marks a significant moment in payment history, but challenges remain for achieving true scale.
Visa指出,稳定币要成为下一代数字支付基础设施,需要三层要素:技术层、储备层和接口层。区块链技术和受监管的储备支持稳定币分别解决了前两个问题,但接口层仍需解决。Visa plans to help address this through its service stack.
Since 2020, Visa has facilitated nearly $95 billion in cryptocurrency purchases and over $25 billion in cryptocurrency spending. The company sees important opportunities for stablecoins in emerging markets, particularly where users need access to the U.S. dollar, local fiat currencies are highly volatile, or for cross-border remittances.
