TechFlow, June 21 — According to official announcements, cryptocurrency exchange Kraken has formally relocated its global headquarters to Cheyenne, Wyoming, reinforcing its commitment to advancing crypto innovation in the United States. As a regulatory pioneer in the crypto space, the state has enacted over 30 dedicated cryptocurrency laws, including legally recognizing digital assets as property, establishing a specialized fintech regulatory sandbox, and protecting private keys from forced disclosure.
Kraken's relationship with Wyoming dates back to 2021, when the exchange provided a $300,000 educational grant to the University of Wyoming and sponsored blockchain-related events at the school, supporting experimentation and adoption of blockchain technology on campus.
Kraken stated that the headquarters relocation will not alter its globally distributed, remote-first work model, but instead reflects its recognition of the region’s supportive policy environment for cryptocurrency.
