TechFlow news, June 19 — Walrus, a blockchain storage protocol built on Sui, is deeply integrating with the decentralized computing network io.net. The integration between Walrus and io.net creates a "Bring Your Own Model" (BYOM) platform, allowing users to integrate custom AI models without relying on pre-built or curated models. io.net provides GPU clusters required for training and inference, while Walrus' decentralized storage ensures proprietary models are secure and tamper-proof, establishing a trusted environment for AI data storage and computation.
Beyond decentralized storage and computing capabilities, Walrus also supports private compute execution, enabling models stored on Walrus to be directly loaded onto io.net's GPU clusters for training or fine-tuning. The integrated solution offers top-tier encryption and access controls, along with usage-based billing, ensuring developers only pay for the storage and compute resources they actually use.
This integration highlights Walrus emerging as a key component of the decentralized AI technology stack. io.net's BYOM platform—including model upload, computing, and billing—is currently in closed beta testing and is expected to officially launch within weeks.
