TechFlow news, on June 18, SlowMist founder Yu Xian recently revealed common methods used to steal WeChat accounts on social media. According to his verification, after obtaining a target user's account password, attackers can contact two of the user’s frequent WeChat contacts to receive a six-digit verification code, thereby completing account theft. Attackers often carry out fraud late at night, particularly targeting high-value activities such as over-the-counter cryptocurrency transactions. Another expert pointed out that hackers may also obtain SMS verification codes by replacing SIM cards at mobile service centers, thus taking over accounts. Yu Xian advised being cautious when adding new contacts and paying close attention to account security alerts.
