Led by Republican Senator Bill Hagerty of Tennessee, the bill establishes a regulatory framework for dollar-linked stablecoins, representing a significant legislative breakthrough for the digital asset industry. Eighteen Democratic senators joined most Republicans in supporting the bill, which now moves to the House of Representatives for further consideration.
