TechFlow, June 17 — According to Cointelegraph, former OpenAI employee Joey Bertschler has founded Volante Chain, a blockchain-based system for instant wage payments. The platform enables employees to receive their wages on the same day they work, rather than waiting until the end of the month.
Bertschler stated during the Germany Blockchain and AI Week that Volante uses blockchain technology to enable seamless record-keeping and reduce costs to maintain low fees. The system also integrates artificial intelligence to predict employer default risks and operates in a semi-automated model incorporating human oversight and legal review.
Volante has currently raised approximately $2 million from private investors and is undergoing small-scale testing in Vietnam and Japan. Bertschler's departure from OpenAI was partly due to dissatisfaction with company policies, including criticism of OpenAI's promotion restrictions on non-U.S. employees and its increasingly closed operational approach.
