TechFlow, June 17 — According to Decrypt, a San Francisco musical titled "Luigi: The Musical" fictionalizes imprisoned FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) as one of its characters. The production imagines SBF sharing a cell in Brooklyn jail with Luigi Mangione, who is suspected of murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO, and Sean "Diddy" Combs, who faces sex trafficking charges.
The 60-minute dark comedy sold out within 24 hours after its premiere at Taylor Street Theatre. André Margatini portrays SBF, delivering satirical monologues in the style of TED Talks and performing songs like "Bay Area Baby" to mock Silicon Valley culture and the privileged elite.
Despite ongoing legal proceedings for both Mangione and Combs, and SBF's case currently under appeal, the musical has received enthusiastic audience responses. A sixth performance will be added on July 13 at The Independent, a 500-seat venue.
