TechFlow news, June 16 — Bitget announced a three-year philanthropic partnership with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), aiming to jointly build a blockchain-based innovative education model to empower 300,000 adolescent girls and educators across eight developing countries.
Through this collaboration, Bitget will join UNICEF’s "Game Changers Coalition" initiative. Bitget Academy will assist in developing the UN’s first interactive training program combining gaming and blockchain knowledge, offering practical and engaging learning experiences for youth and educators.
Sandra Visscher, Executive Director of UNICEF Luxembourg, said: "This strategic partnership with Bitget aims to empower young people globally through digital skills, with a focus on increasing female participation and development opportunities in technology, driving socially inclusive growth through technological innovation."
The partnership is also part of Bitget’s women’s philanthropy initiative, Blockchain4Her (B4H), which strives to provide learning and skills training opportunities for one million girls in developing countries such as Brazil and India by 2027.
Established in 1946, UNICEF works to improve children’s health, education, and nutrition worldwide. It was the first UN agency to accept cryptocurrency donations. In 2019, it partnered with the Ethereum Foundation to support open-source technology startups; in 2022, it collaborated with Binance Charity to deliver emergency aid to children and families in Ukraine and neighboring countries.
