TechFlow, June 16 — According to Cointelegraph, Michael Saylor, executive chairman of Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), met with Pakistan's Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Blockchain Minister Bilal Bin Saqib to discuss how Bitcoin could function as a national reserve asset. Saylor expressed willingness to serve as an advisor for Pakistan’s cryptocurrency initiative.
Pakistan has recently shifted toward supporting cryptocurrencies, establishing a cryptocurrency regulatory authority last month and planning to build a Bitcoin reserve. Minister Saqib suggested that Pakistan should follow Saylor’s example in transforming Strategy into a Bitcoin acquisition vehicle.
The Pakistan Cryptocurrency Committee submitted a draft legal framework on June 6, and the Ministry of Finance has agreed to expedite the approval process. The Pakistani government aims to lead Global South nations in digital asset development and adoption.
