TechFlow, June 13 — According to The Block, e-commerce platform Shopify has partnered with Coinbase and Stripe to enable merchants to accept payments in Circle's USDC stablecoin.
As announced on Thursday, consumers will be able to pay using USDC on the Base network in 34 countries. Stripe will allow merchants to receive stablecoin payments in their preferred local currency by default, which will then be deposited into their bank accounts like any other payment.
Meanwhile, Coinbase and Shopify have jointly launched a "Commerce Payments Protocol" aimed at addressing the complexity of using cryptocurrency in real-world commercial transactions.
