TechFlow news, June 12 — According to Decrypt, an Interpol-led "Operation Secure" has successfully disrupted a network distributing info-stealing malware. Law enforcement agencies from 26 countries collaborated in the operation, arresting 32 suspects—18 from Vietnam, 12 from Sri Lanka, and 2 from Nauru. Over 20,000 malicious IPs and domains were shut down, and more than 100GB of data from 41 seized servers was recovered, effectively neutralizing 79% of identified suspicious IP addresses.
This type of malware is primarily used to steal browser credentials, passwords, credit card information, and cryptocurrency wallet data. Authorities have notified over 216,000 victims and potential victims to take protective measures.
