According to market news, on June 12, 2025, the Thai Immigration Bureau arrested a 39-year-old Chinese national surnamed Huang Tianwei at Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok. The man is suspected of involvement in a major fraud case in Chiang Rai Province. Investigations revealed that in April this year, Huang lured two Chinese citizens into transferring approximately 2 billion Thai baht (about 44 million RMB) under the guise of cryptocurrency investment, then went missing. The victims reported the incident to local police on April 30, after which the court promptly issued an arrest warrant. The suspect was intercepted at the airport while attempting to leave the country and has now been transferred to Chiang Rai police for further investigation.
