TechFlow news, on June 2, according to an official announcement, South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb stated that due to a recent increase in phishing attacks, it plans to redeploy its virtual asset withdrawal delay system on June 17, 2025. Virtual asset withdrawals following the first KRW deposit will be delayed by 72 hours, and withdrawals of equivalent virtual assets following subsequent KRW deposits will be delayed by 24 hours.
An example of the 24-hour withdrawal delay system: if there is an existing balance of 1 million KRW and another 2 million KRW is deposited, making a total of 3 million KRW, only virtual assets worth 1 million KRW can be withdrawn every 24 hours; if 2 million KRW is deposited while there was previously no KRW balance, virtual asset withdrawals will be restricted for 24 hours, after which virtual assets equivalent to 2 million KRW may be withdrawn.
