TechFlow news, June 1 — According to The Block, an auction of prison belongings belonging to Ross Ulbricht, founder of the darknet marketplace "Silk Road," has raised approximately $1.8 million in bitcoin. The auction included artworks created by Ulbricht while incarcerated, personal items, and his prison identification card. The prison ID was sold for the highest bid of 11 BTC (approximately $1.1 million). Ulbricht stated that the auction marks the beginning of a new chapter in his life.
