TechFlow news, May 28 — According to data from Glassnode, the activity level of long-term Bitcoin holders has significantly increased recently. The total transfer volume from holders who have held their Bitcoin for 1–5 years reached $4.02 billion, the highest since February this year. Among them, the 3–5 year holder group contributed $2.16 billion, the second-highest in this cycle, only behind the $6 billion recorded in March 2024; the 2–3 year holder group contributed $1.41 billion; and the 1–2 year holder group contributed $450 million.
This current transfer activity by the 1–5 year holder cohort marks the fifth-largest peak in the cycle, primarily driven by long-term holders. Reviewing previous transfer peaks in the cycle: $9.25 billion in October 2024 (led by the 1–2 year group), $6.11 billion in March 2024 (led by the 2–3 year group), $5.42 billion in February 2025 (led by the 2–3 year group), and $4.39 billion in November 2024 (led by the 3–5 year group). The current activity level indicates that long-term holders are accelerating the release of their Bitcoin holdings.
