TechFlow news, May 21 — According to an official announcement from Circle, the Circle Payments Network mainnet has officially launched. The network is a blockchain-based payment coordination protocol that enables banks and payment service providers to conduct real-time settlements using USDC on public blockchains.
The Circle Payments Network supports features such as business-to-business supplier payments, cross-border remittances, treasury management, recurring corporate payments, and payroll and bulk disbursements. Initial mainnet participants include Alfred, Tazapay, ConduitPay, and RedotPay, which will enable stablecoin payment channels in Latin America and Asia.
Circle plans to expand its operations to regions including Nigeria, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Colombia, India, the UAE, China, Turkey, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Argentina by 2025.
