TechFlow news, May 21 — According to DLnews, New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced on Tuesday the establishment of a "Digital Assets Advisory Committee," aiming to attract fintech investments and talent and integrate blockchain technology into city services. Adams stated that the initiative could make birth certificates and death records more accessible to residents while maintaining privacy, and the city is exploring the possibility of allowing citizens to pay municipal taxes using cryptocurrency. The city government plans to announce the committee chair and key policy recommendations in the coming weeks. As one of the U.S.'s prominent cryptocurrency supporters, Adams previously pledged to convert his first three paychecks into cryptocurrency and remarked during his speech: "Everyone laughed at me back then, but now my investment has paid off."
