TechFlow news, May 20 — According to Bitcoin.com News, Festo Ivaibi, founder of Ugandan blockchain and cryptocurrency education institution Mitroplus Labs, was kidnapped by armed criminals on May 17 and forced to transfer $500,000 worth of cryptocurrency assets.
The criminals, disguised as Ugandan security personnel, abducted Ivaibi near his residence and took him to the Bunamwaya area south of Kampala, the capital. After forcing him to transfer funds into their Trust wallet, they released him. Mitroplus Labs stated that the incident did not affect the security of community funds.
