TechFlow news, May 20 — According to an official announcement, on May 19, 2025, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) appointed Katherine Reilly as the agency's Acting Inspector General. Reilly, who previously served as Deputy Inspector General at the SEC, will succeed Deborah Jeffrey, the current Inspector General since 2023, who is retiring. Reilly brings extensive legal and regulatory experience from prior roles at the Federal Trade Commission, the Office of Inspector General at the U.S. Postal Service, and the Executive Office for Immigration Review at the Department of Justice. SEC Chairman Paul Atkins stated that Reilly possesses the necessary experience and expertise to continue advancing oversight efforts and is committed to promoting transparency and operational efficiency within the agency.
