TechFlow, May 19 — According to CoinDesk, the Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) has released updated rules for digital asset trading. The new regulations introduce stricter leverage controls and collateral requirements through amendments to the Broker-Dealer and Exchange Rulebook.
VARA stated that the update aligns its regulations with global risk standards. The new rules also strengthen oversight in areas of the cryptocurrency industry previously subject to lighter regulation, such as broker-dealers and wallet services. Ruben Bombardi, VARA's General Counsel and Head of Regulatory Enablement, said the rule updates reinforce the foundation for a responsible and scalable ecosystem.
