TechFlow news, May 18 — According to E24, Morten Søberg, former State Secretary in Norway’s Ministry of Finance, member of the supervisory board at Norges Bank, and Head of Public Affairs at SpareBank 1, will become the Secretary General of the newly established Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI) in August 2025. The organization aims to oppose bitcoin bans, promote legislative openness, and increase public understanding of bitcoin and monetary systems.
Currently, BPI has received donations totaling approximately 1.517 BTC (around 1.6 million Norwegian kroner) and has 121 paying members.
