TechFlow news, May 16 — According to South Korean media outlet Money Today, the Jeju District Court in South Korea has ruled on a cryptocurrency theft case. A woman in her 40s was sentenced to two years in prison for transferring approximately 683 million KRW (about USD 500,000) worth of her boyfriend's cryptocurrency into her personal wallet without authorization. The court stated that due to the significant amount involved and the defendant’s prior record of two fraud convictions, strict punishment was warranted. Although the defendant returned most of the cryptocurrency, an actual loss of about 21.9 million KRW remained.
