TechFlow news, May 15 — Despite recent U.S.-China agreements to lower tariffs, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon said he still cannot rule out the possibility of an economic recession, CNN reported. Speaking to Bloomberg Television at JPMorgan's annual conference in Paris on Thursday, Dimon stated, "I wouldn't rule out a recession risk at this point." Previously, JPMorgan economists had reduced the probability of a U.S. recession from 60% to below 50%. Markets reacted strongly to positive developments in U.S.-China trade talks, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average surging as much as 1,100 points. Dimon noted that while he does not frequently meet with President Trump, he maintains communication with government officials.
