TechFlow news, May 15 — According to Cointelegraph, Jonathan Levin, CEO of blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis, said at the 2025 Consensus Conference that some criminal organizations have not yet realized the traceability of cryptocurrencies, which may explain a recent series of cryptocurrency-related kidnappings in Paris.
It was reported that two serious incidents have occurred in Paris this month, including an attempted kidnapping of family members of Pierre Noizat, co-founder and CEO of French cryptocurrency exchange Paymium, and the abduction of the father of a cryptocurrency entrepreneur for a ransom demand of 7 million euros. Levin emphasized that law enforcement agencies have achieved significant success in tracking stolen funds and ransom payments, leading to multiple arrests, as these transactions are traceable.
