TechFlow news, May 10 — According to Coin Track Daily, Vietnam has launched an ambitious project called 1Matrix aimed at building the country's first domestically developed Layer 1 blockchain. The initiative is jointly driven by prominent institutions including Techcombank, Techcom Securities, Masterise Group, and One Mount Group, and has now partnered with the Vietnam Blockchain Association (VBA).
Unlike Ronin, Vietnam’s previous Layer 1 blockchain platform developed by gaming startup Sky Mavis, 1Matrix is designed as a multi-purpose blockchain intended to support strategic priorities across multiple Vietnamese industries. The project carries not only technological significance but also nationalist overtones, aiming to strengthen data sovereignty, enhance cybersecurity, and elevate Vietnam’s standing on the global stage.
As a flagship initiative under the "Made in Vietnam" vision, 1Matrix has secured high-level backing, including from Lieutenant General Dang Vu Son, former head of the government's Cryptography Committee, and has formed a strategic alliance with Boston Consulting Group.
