TechFlow, May 10 — According to CryptoSlate, Metaplanet has issued its 14th ordinary bond, raising $21.25 million to purchase bitcoin. The bond issuance was approved at a board meeting and fully subscribed by EVO FUND.
Earlier, Metaplanet acquired 555 bitcoins for approximately $53.4 million, bringing its total bitcoin holdings to 5,555 BTC, with a total investment of $481.5 million and an average purchase price of $86,672 per bitcoin. This makes Metaplanet the largest publicly listed bitcoin holder in Asia and the ninth-largest globally.
The zero-coupon bonds issued this time will mature on November 7, 2025, with each bond having a face value of $625,000. The company stated that this bond issuance is not expected to have a significant impact on its consolidated financial results for the fiscal year ending December 31. Metaplanet plans to increase its bitcoin holdings to 10,000 BTC by the end of this year.
