Liu Mou and two others established a fraud studio in Yuelu District, Changsha, using the guise of "Asian beauties" and the Hconex digital currency platform to carry out scams. The criminal gang manipulated backend data to ensure victims' cryptocurrency investments incurred total "losses," defrauding over 1 million yuan.
The Shuangfeng County People's Court delivered a first-instance ruling, upheld by the Loudi City Intermediate People's Court on second instance: principal offender Liu Mou was sentenced to 11 years and 6 months in prison with a fine of 300,000 yuan; Kang Mou was sentenced to 11 years and 2 months in prison with a fine of 300,000 yuan; Zeng Mou was sentenced to 7 years and 6 months in prison with a fine of 90,000 yuan. The illegal gains of the three individuals were confiscated according to law.
