TechFlow news, May 8 — According to Decrypt, the Coinbase Developer Platform launched the open-source protocol x402 on May 8. Based on the HTTP 402 payment status code, this protocol aims to build a native payment layer for the web.
The x402 protocol supports payment processes without registration or email verification. Developers can integrate it with just one line of code. The protocol is compatible with various blockchain networks and also provides payment capabilities for AI agents.
In terms of security, the protocol includes built-in validation mechanisms to prevent replay attacks and ensure transaction safety.
The project team stated that x402 will adopt an open standard, with future development becoming further decentralized and accepting community contributions.
