TechFlow news, May 6 — According to Decrypt, Emma Reynolds, Economic Secretary to the UK Treasury, said at the Financial Times Digital Assets Summit in London that the UK will not follow the US in establishing a national cryptocurrency reserve. Reynolds stated clearly: "We do not believe this approach is suitable for our market. While we understand it is the choice of the United States, it is not part of our plans."
Nevertheless, Reynolds indicated that the UK is seeking alignment with the US in other areas. She revealed that the UK Chancellor has met with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and both sides have established a working group of senior officials. This regulatory forum will hold its meeting in June to discuss cooperation on digital assets.
