TechFlow, May 5 — According to Cointelegraph, the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the New York Post was reportedly hacked. Several users in the cryptocurrency community received unsolicited direct messages from the account, with scammers impersonating journalists and inviting users to join a podcast, directing them to Telegram.
Alex Katz, founder and CEO of Kerberus, revealed that after gaining unauthorized access, the scammers did not post typical wallet-draining links. Instead, they used direct messages to redirect users to Telegram. To prevent the New York Post team from discovering the account compromise, the attackers muted victims' replies after sending the messages.
