TechFlow news, on May 5, CoinFund Founder and CEO Jake Brukhman shared his views on the effectiveness of the "progressive decentralization" strategy on social media. He stated that over the past several years, there have been numerous success stories, including multiple DeFi projects relinquishing control of their private keys, The Graph's transition from a hosted service to a decentralized network, and the decentralization of layer-2 networks' centralized sequencers.
Brukhman emphasized that decentralization offers significant advantages in a business context: it can reduce custody and counterparty risk costs in financial environments, and companies can avoid bearing responsibility for user data security. He also noted Google's recent adoption of zero-knowledge proof technology in privacy as an example. He believes there are no technical barriers to transitioning toward decentralization—projects could switch to decentralized storage simply by changing a URL. Currently, the main constraints on decentralization are trends, movements, and (until recently) regulation and technological adoption.
