TechFlow news, May 5 — According to NBC News, blockchain data firm Chainalysis reported that Trump and his allies earned nearly $900,000 in transaction fees from their cryptocurrency token $TRUMP over two days last month. This surge in revenue followed an announcement on the token's official website offering the top 220 token holders an opportunity to have dinner with the president. After the announcement, the price of the $TRUMP token rose more than 50%. According to information from the project's official site, approximately 80% of the $TRUMP token supply is controlled by the Trump Organization and its affiliates. In response, Trump stated in an interview that he "has not profited from anything" and said he has "not been paying attention" to earnings from cryptocurrency. Currently, some Republican lawmakers have expressed concern, while Democratic senators are calling for an investigation by the U.S. Office of Government Ethics.
