TechFlow news, on April 29, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin stated that the Ethereum Foundation (EF) has set two core goals: the primary goal is to increase Ethereum's usage, with a particular emphasis on use cases where users can genuinely benefit from Ethereum's underlying properties; the second is to comprehensively enhance Ethereum's resilience and decentralization, focusing on identifying and addressing potential vulnerabilities across all layers of the technology stack.
Pierre Rochard, Vice President of Research at Riot Platforms, expressed skepticism regarding this. Rochard pointed out that the Ethereum Foundation's stated goals of "increasing Ethereum's usage" and "enhancing Ethereum's decentralization and resilience" do nothing to help increase ETH's value, as Ethereum usage can be achieved through wBTC or USDT. He believes these goals are partly foundational clichés and partly performative. As an alternative, Rochard suggested that the Ethereum Foundation should pursue an initial public offering (IPO) on the Nasdaq stock exchange and execute an ETH treasury strategy via convertible bonds.
