TechFlow news, April 24 — According to SlowMist's Yu Xian, the ZKSync incident involving a $5 million theft of ZK tokens due to administrator private key exposure has been resolved, with all stolen funds recovered. During the incident response, Matter Labs, the operator of ZKSync's sole sequencer, intervened by blocking the hacker’s address, successfully restricting the transfer of 70% of the stolen assets. Matter Labs stated that their intervention was justified because the stolen ZK tokens directly impact protocol governance.
Yu Xian commented: "I understand the reasoning, but I feel slightly regretful about ZKSync not intervening in certain past theft incidents that weren't related to its own major internal issues."
