TechFlow news, April 24 — According to an announcement by Kuwait's Ministry of Interior, the country has officially declared cryptocurrency mining to be an illegal activity. The announcement stated that cryptocurrency mining violates multiple laws, including the 1970 Amendment Law No. 31, and places significant strain on the national electricity infrastructure.
The Ministry emphasized that unauthorized mining operations lead to excessive energy consumption and increased load on public power networks, potentially causing power outages and disrupting essential services in residential, commercial, and industrial areas. The Ministry has coordinated with various government entities, including the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, urging relevant parties to promptly bring their operations into compliance. Otherwise, legal measures will be taken, and violators will be referred to the appropriate investigative authorities.
