TechFlow news, on April 24, according to the "2024 Report" released by the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3), individuals aged 60 and above in the United States filed 33,369 complaints related to cryptocurrency scams in 2024, with total losses amounting to $2.84 billion, accounting for over 30% of the annual total crypto scam losses of $9.3 billion. Overall, IC3 received 149,686 cryptocurrency-related complaints throughout the year, a 66% increase compared to the previous year. Investment scams and cryptocurrency ATM scams were the primary methods, resulting in losses of $5.8 billion and $247 million respectively.
