TechFlow, April 18 — The Oregon Attorney General today filed a securities enforcement lawsuit against cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, employing a regulatory theory that the SEC has formally abandoned. Coinbase Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal stated the action is "baseless" and "undermines constructive policymaking currently underway in Washington, D.C." As bipartisan lawmakers in Congress push for comprehensive federal digital asset legislation, Coinbase pledged to maintain normal operations in Oregon and said it is "ready to defend against this lawsuit," vowing it will "never stop standing up for our customers and the industry."
