TechFlow news, April 15 — According to Jinshi Data, U.S. Vice President Vance said that due to President Trump's affection for the United Kingdom and the royal family, the U.S. and the U.K. are very likely to reach a great trade agreement. In Trump’s initial tariff announcement, the U.K. did not face the harshest penalties because the bilateral trade relationship is largely balanced. Nevertheless, the U.K. now faces a 10% tariff on imports to the U.S., while its steel and automotive industries face a 25% tariff. Officials from both countries have been negotiating for weeks, initially focusing on strengthening cooperation in artificial intelligence and technology, but discussions may expand to include food and other goods. Vance said the U.S. administration is working very hard with Prime Minister Starmer’s government. On cultural affinities between the U.S. and the U.K., Vance said: "I believe there is a strong possibility we can reach a great agreement that serves the best interests of both nations."
