TechFlow news, April 14 — Story Protocol CEO Seung Yoon Lee posted that in South Korea, cryptocurrency is one of the few things bringing together older and younger generations.
According to statistics from Korea's Dong-A Ilbo, the age distribution of cryptocurrency investors in South Korea has undergone significant changes. The data shows that the number of investors aged 50 increased by 56.4% year-on-year, reaching 1.75 million; investors aged 60 and above rose from 371,800 to 636,700, an increase of 52.6%.
Notably, nearly half of those holding more than 1 billion Korean won (approximately "whale" investors) in cryptocurrency assets are over the age of 50.
