TechFlow news, April 11 — According to CoinDesk, U.S. prosecutors said that recent changes in the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) enforcement policy toward cryptocurrency will not affect the charges against Terraform Labs founder Do Kwon.
Previously, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche stated in a memo that, except in special circumstances, the DOJ would no longer bring enforcement actions against cryptocurrency companies. The court has postponed the trial date in Do Kwon's case to February 17, 2026, with the next pretrial conference scheduled for June 12, 2025.
The report noted that Do Kwon currently faces multiple charges including commodity fraud, securities fraud, wire fraud, and conspiracy to commit money laundering. If convicted on all counts, he could face up to 130 years in prison.
