TechFlow, April 9 — According to Bitcoinist, Swedish Member of Parliament Rickard Nordin submitted a written inquiry to the Minister of Finance, suggesting that Bitcoin be included in the nation's foreign exchange reserves. In his inquiry, Nordin noted that countries such as El Salvador have already adopted Bitcoin as legal tender, and central banks worldwide continue discussing Bitcoin's impact on monetary policy.
The report added that Erik Thedéen, Governor of the Swedish Central Bank, previously stated in March 2024 that Bitcoin has no place within Sweden's financial system. Currently, Sweden lacks regulations permitting the inclusion of Bitcoin in foreign exchange reserves.
