TechFlow, April 9 — According to Decrypt, San Francisco-based blockchain security startup Octane has raised $6.7 million in funding from investors including Winklevoss Capital, Archetype, Circle, and Gemini. Octane's AI-powered code auditing tool integrates into GitHub workflows, enabling real-time identification of potential security vulnerabilities during development.
Octane CEO Giovanni Vignone noted that blockchain projects spend substantial amounts annually on code security, yet security issues persist. Data shows that approximately $2.2 billion in crypto assets were lost due to vulnerabilities in 2024, with losses nearing that figure within the first four months of 2025.
The company currently primarily supports Solidity language and Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible projects, with plans to expand its services to other blockchain platforms such as Solana in the future.
