TechFlow, April 8 — According to Bloomberg, French cryptocurrency hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger SAS is facing consumer litigation in the United States over allegedly misleading claims regarding the security of its Nano S and Nano X devices. U.S. District Judge LaShonda A. Hunt for the Northern District of Illinois ruled that although sales contracts reference French law, this does not bar consumers from filing lawsuits in the United States, as the plaintiffs' claims do not depend on the application or interpretation of the contract.
Ledger is one of the leading manufacturers of cryptocurrency hardware wallets. Its SAS corporate structure is similar to a limited liability company (LLC) in the United States, offering liability protection to shareholders and commonly used by small-to-medium-sized businesses and startups.
