TechFlow, April 6 — ClearBank has entered into a regional partnership with cryptocurrency exchange Kraken to provide pound sterling clearing services for Kraken's UK customers, establishing on- and off-ramps within the digital transaction ecosystem. The two parties plan to launch regional clearing services in early 2025. Previously, Kraken’s legal entity Payward Services obtained an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license in the UK, with ClearBank becoming its primary UK banking partner.
The collaboration will also extend to Europe, where Kraken’s European EMI entity, Payward Ireland Limited, will join ClearBank, making it Kraken’s primary clearing bank in the EU region and enabling both UK and EU customers to access pound sterling and euro clearing services, further advancing mainstream adoption of cryptocurrency.
