TechFlow, April 4 — According to Coindesk, securities regulators in Illinois announced they will dismiss the lawsuit against Coinbase's staking business. The state becomes the fourth, after Kentucky, Vermont, and South Carolina, to drop related litigation.
Illinois was one of ten states that filed staking-related lawsuits against Coinbase in 2023. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) dropped its federal securities law charges against Coinbase’s staking products in February this year. Six states—Alabama, California, Maryland, New Jersey, Washington, and Wisconsin—still maintain their lawsuits against Coinbase.
