TechFlow news, March 31 — The Babylon Foundation announced the upcoming launch of Phase-2: the Babylon Genesis mainnet, the first L1 network secured by Bitcoin staking, marking the first time Bitcoin is used as staking collateral for a PoS chain.
Babylon Genesis is protected by a dual validation mechanism, comprising 100 CometBFT validators backed by BABY and 60 finality providers secured by Bitcoin staking. Bitcoin timestamps are recorded approximately every 30 minutes, further mitigating long-range attack risks and enabling fast, technically secure unstaking: 2 days for BABY and 7 days for Bitcoin.
