TechFlow reported on March 21 that Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong recently commented on social media regarding the U.S. Treasury's decision to lift sanctions on Tornado Cash: "Nobody wants to see bad actors using cryptocurrency. But privacy is an important feature for many law-abiding citizens, and you can't sanction open-source code—that's a free speech issue. Glad to see this resolved."
He added, "We look forward to working with the Treasury to find ways to combat the roughly 0.1% of illicit activity in crypto—far less than cash or the banking system—that align with U.S. laws and values."
